摘要
文章研究运用Biber的多维分析法,对主流大学英语教材和通用学术英语语言特征进行语料库对比分析。研究表明:(1)大学英语教材互动文体较多但学术类型文体欠缺;(2)大学英语教材表现出较强的交互性、显性劝说型和具体化表述,而通用学术英语具有较高的信息性和抽象化表达。基于多维特征的综合分析方法较客观地描写了大学英语教材的语言特征,对教材改进及现有教材使用策略均具有指导意义。
Based on Biber's multi-dimensional analysis,a corpus-based comparison was conducted between mainstream College English textbooks and general academic English.The results indicate that(1)College English textbooks have more interactive text types but lack sufficient academic texts;(2)College English shows more involvement,overt expression of persuasion and concreteness,while academic English is more informative and abstract.The multi-factor analysis bears a more objective and comprehensive description of College English textbooks.The applications can be found in teaching material improvement and textbook adoption strategies.
