Study of the Renovation and Protection Mechanisms of UK Urban Color Landscape

城市的色彩景观逐渐成为城市规划学界的研究热点。英国城市色彩景观以更新和保护为主要目标,结合英国城市规划体系强调灵活的设计原则和广泛的公众参与。以布莱克本和达尔文地区作为研究对象,阐述英国城市色彩景观的法律地位、行政机构、实施管理流程和设计导则等方面的内容。并建议结合中国城市规划体系,明确中国色彩景观的法律依据,完善社区规划师和公众参与制度,统一行业标准,编制弹性色彩设计导则。

Urban color landscape is a hot topic in urban planning research, and has been extensively studied over decades. In UK, the major focus of urban color landscape is on renovation and protection, while emphasizing on the flexibility of design principles and the participation of general public. In this paper, the areas of Blackburn and Darwin are taken as examples to study various mechanisms of UK urban color landscape, including its legal status, government administrations, implementation management, design principles, and so on. Moreover, the observations are applied into the urban planning system of China, and the following improvements are put forward. First, it is highly demanded to establish clear legal basis for color landscape design. Second, it is desirable to enhance the participation system of general public and local communities. Finally, there is a great need for a unified industrial standard to improve the flexibility of color design principles.
