俄罗斯经济转轨以来 ,亚马尔—涅涅茨自治区的人口状况是极北地区最好的。主要表现是 :人口自然增长率较高 ,迁入人数超过迁出人数。其原因是当地的工资水平和社会保障水平较高。使用“远方”的临时工作者近来有扩大的趋势 ,这将使常住人口的失业率上升。

Since the Russian economy was transformed into a market, the population of Yamalo-Nenetskiy Avtonomnyy Okrug has been in the best growth trend in the North Polar region. Its main characteristics are that the rate of natural growth is much higher, and the number of the persons who move in surpasses that of the persons who move out. The reason is that the local wage level and social security level are higher in comparison. Nevertheless, the casual laborers from remote areas are on the increase in recent years. The situation impels the permanent population to a higher rate of unemployment and an increase of outflow.
