Concerns over the Cultural Connotation of Chinese Words and Sentences

本文分四个部分,从大词的使用、名句的移用、永诀的叮咛、推理的趣说四个方面,各列举几种现象,讨论华语词句的文化蕴含。需要讨论的问题,覆盖面甚广,包括词句的来源演化、原本涵意、引申联想、语境规约、社会习俗、汉字形义等等,情况极为复杂。写作本文,是想通过若干实例的分析,说明语言与文化犹如水乳交融,应该关注。

This paper discusses the cultural connotation of Chinese words and sentences from four perspectives:1) words used for giants,2) transfer of well-known sayings,3) warning while parting forever,and 4) fascinating interpretation of logical deduction.The issues cover complicated cultural connotations in Chinese words and sentences,such as their origin,the original connotation,the extending association,the restriction from context,social customs,the form and meaning of Chinese characters and so on.Through the analysis of several examples,the paper reveals the significant and intimate links between language and culture.
