On the Delegation of World Students Unions' Visit to China in 1938

1938年夏,世界学联代表团应邀来华访问、考察,其主要任务,一是将世界各国青年对中国抗战的同情和支持带给中国青年;二是了解侵华日军的暴行和中国的抗战情况,以便向世界宣传,争取国际社会对中国抗战更多的同情和支持。世界学联代表团为期2个多月的访问和实地考察,有效地促进了中华民族的大团结,更加坚定了中国军民抗战必胜的信心,有利于中国争取更加广泛的国际援助。

During the summer of 1938,a delegation of the world students unions paid a visit to China;its main missionwas to convey to the Chinese youths the world youths' sympathy for and support to China's resistance again Japaneseaggression as well as to investigate the Japanese army's atrocities and the Chinese peoples' struggle against theirinvasion and let the world know about the facts so as to gain more sympathy and support from the world community. Theirover two months' visit effectively promoted the unity of the Chinese nation,strengthened the confidence of the Chinesemilitary forces and civilians in winning the war,and helped china in seeking extensive world assistance.
