传统俭德的多维内涵及其当代价值

Multi-dimensional Connotation of Traditional Virtue of Frugality and Its Contemporary Value

俭德作为中国传统美德,除了具有节约、节制、谦敬的基本内涵外,还是传统社会个体品德培养的基础、家庭美德的基本原则、政治伦理的重要范畴,这主要与生产落后的自然经济基础紧密相连。虽然当今社会的经济基础已与传统社会完全不同,但任何忽略或者否定节俭价值的学说和理论都是不足取的。传统俭德所具有的三个维度在当今社会仍具有重要价值:对过度追求享乐的物欲生活具有遏制作用;有助于树立正确的消费观及营造良好社会风尚;有助于节约资源和保护环境;有助于缓解社会矛盾、促进社会和谐发展。

The virtue of frugality is a traditional virtue of Chinese nation.Its basic connotation is demonstrated by thrift and tempferance.With three dimensions as individual morality,family virtue and political ethics,it plays a significant role in cultivation of individual morality,family life,social communication,state goverance,economic development and so on.Although great changes have taken place to present society and economy,traditional virtue of frugality with its multi-dimensional connotation still exerts positive influence in prevention of excessive pursuit of materialistic life,establishment of correct consumption view,fostering of healthy social conventions,resouces conservation for promotion of human society sustainable development and alleviation of social contradiction for promotion of harmonious development.Therefore,the virtue of frugality,as a practical topic and research project,deserves deep exploration.
