摘要
Because of their distance from urban centers and their geographic insularity, the traditional Baiku Yao culture can be seen everywhere in the ethnic villages in Nandan County in southwestern China. The men dress in traditional "white trousers" that give the group its name. Women weave and dye their patterned colorful skirts. The rituals of olden days retain their spiritual meaning and the structures of the homes and granaries are hand-built. As more of humanity flocks to metropolitan areas for modernity and employment, the Baiku Yao may seem anachronistic.
