Business history,as a branch of history research,came into being relatively late,and its paradigm and tradition were primarily established by American business historians.Alfred D.Chandler,Jr.,the founder of New Business History in the United States,has played an important role in New Business History and New History in the country in the twentieth century.His achievements have benefited from interdisciplinary methods.Getting reference from the theories and concepts of sociology,economics and management,he has extended the visions of historical research and innovated the research paradigm,formed the School of Chandler in business history research,and exerted interdisciplinary influences.It is of great significance to study Chandler＇s interdisciplinary methods to understand the relationship between history research and social sciences.
