On the Changes of Travel Customs in Modern Sichuan

出行习俗是指人们离家出行过程中的风俗习惯。古代巴蜀儿女依靠勤劳的双手开辟了众多的水陆通道,并形成了不同方式的出行习俗。鸦片战争后,在西学东渐的影响下,新式交通运输工具在四川陆续出现。相应地,新的出行方式、出行观念等开始形成,出行习俗由此出现新的变化。

Travel custom refers to the customs which form in the process of people＇s travel. The offsprings of ancient Bashu open many water channels by their industrious hands and form different travel customs. After the opium war, some new means of transport appeared gradually in Sichuan under the influence of the dissemination of west learning. Then new means and ideas of transport come into being and travel customs begin to change.
