CHEN Xujing's Research on Culturology

陈序经先生是中国著名的社会学家,在其著作《文化学概论》中,对伦理、宗教、政治、经济四种文化观进行阐述与评价,并指出文化的地理、生物、心理和社会的基础,进而阐发文化的意义、性质、重心、成分及其关系等核心命题,构建了其特有的现代文化学体系。这部作品使人们对文化和文化学有了更多的了解,从而深知文化对于一个个体、民族、国家的重要性。

CHEN Xujing is a well-known Chinese sociologist. In his book ＂An Introduction to Culturology＂,Mr. CHEN interprets and evaluates four culture perspectives： ethic,religion,politics,and economy,and points out the geographical,biological,psychological,and social foundation of culture. The core issues,such as the significance,nature,focus,and components of culture,are discussed to construct a system of modern culturology. With this work,we may understand and know culture and culturology more and have a better understanding of the significance of culture to individuals,nation,and state.
