This article discusses a renovation project of an old residential building which is typical oftraditional Chinese architecture and in fair condition.The principle of“maintaining traditionalmoods and meanwhile modern facilities”was adopted here.This approach in housing renewalhas proved to be protecting the old townscape,economizimg investment.and meeting the resi-dents’effective in living aspiration and and requirements.
