Vascular injury is a rare complication following the fixation of intertrochanteric femoral fracture. A case of profunda femoris artery injury after intertroehanteric hip fracture fixation with PFNA will be reported. Arterial injury＇s manifestation is arteriovenous fistula, which has not been reported before. This patient presented with excessive thigh swelling, substantial pain and progressive drop of haemoglobin 8 days postoperatively. Diagnosis was confirmed by angiographic study and it was successfully treated by coil embolization.
