语用化视域下英汉构词缀化对比研究

A Comparative Study of Affixations between English and Chinese from the Perspective of Pragmaticalization

本文在语用化视域下,对比英汉构词缀化现象语用动因,发现这一共性语言现象背后有共同的语用规律:英汉构词缀化现象都主要受主观化、语用类推和语言明晰性和经济性原则的驱使。但是,英语和汉语必然属于不同的语系,所以英语和汉语在吸收和同化他源词缀、类词缀的形成机制及英汉构词缀化的语用目的等方面又有很大的差异。从语用规律上探索英汉构词缀化现象,对英汉词汇发展及演变、语言理据的探讨,英汉新词语互译、词语习得、词汇教学等方面都有重要的理论和实践指导意义。

Through a comparative analysis of the pragmatic motivations between English and Chinese affixations in new words building, this thesis finds out that the affixation tendency in English and Chinese new words building is motivated by these same pragmatic laws, the major ones are subjectivization, pragmatic analogy and the language principles of clarity and economy Whereas, English and Chinese belong to different language families, therefore there are some different motivations of the affixations in English and Chinese new words building, the most obvious ones are the absorbing and assimilating of alien affixes, the pragmatic generating mechanisms of affixoids and the pragmatic purposes of English and Chinese affixations in new words building The findings of this thesis make great contributions to the development and evolution of English and Chinese vocabulary, the exploration of the motivation of language, the translation of English and Chinese neologisms, vocabulary acquisition, and vocabulary teaching, and so on.
