Deepen the Reforms and Strengthen Cross-Sector Consultation

在推进人民政协协商民主过程中,强调加强界别协商,是因为界别协商在人民政协协商民主体系中占有重要地位。加强界别协商可以举纲张目,带动其他协商形式发展,提升政协协商民主整体水平,更好地发挥人民政协职能作用。当前,党中央提出健全社会主义协商民主制度,对进一步发展人民政协协商民主提供了重要指南,也为加强人民政协界别协商提供了难得的机遇。在这样的历史背景下,要加强界别协商,必须抓住机遇,深化改革,大胆创新。

In the process of promoting consultative democracy in the CPPCC,we put emphasis on cross- sector consultation as it is of importance in the whole consultative democracy system.Enhancing cross- sector consultation will drive the development of other forms of consultation,improve the overall level of the CPPCC consultative democracy,and give better play to the role of the CPPCC.At present,the Central Committee of the CPC has decided to strengthen the system of socialist consultative democracy.This is an important guideline for further development of the CPPCC consultative democracy,and provides a rare opportunity for strengthening cross- sector consultation in the CPPCC.With such historical background,we must seize the opportunity to deepen reforms and blaze new trails so as to enhance cross- sector consultation.
