论当代中国译者的文学译介伦理——以张培基散文英译为例

Translation Ethics for Contemporary Chinese Translators

翻译是中国文学"走出去"的重要"助推剂"。面对"走出去"的时代呼唤与中国文学译介的尴尬现状,中国译者有必要重新思考其立场与译介伦理。以著名翻译家张培基的译作《英译中国现代散文选》为研究个案,探讨张培基的译介伦理观;认为中国译者应勇挑责任,选择正确的作品,保持热爱原作与乐于译介的态度,坚持既对作者负责又为读者着想、既努力"存异"又适时"化同"的原则,努力发挥译者主体性,再现文本的"神韵"。

Translation is an important ＂booster＂ for the ＂going out＂ of Chinese literature. However, facing the call of the times and the embarrassing position of Chinese literary translation, Chinese translators need to reconsider their position and translation ethics as trans- lators. This paper tries to explore Mr. ZHANG Peiji＇ s translation ethics by doing case study of his translation Selected Modern Chinese Essays, and proposes that Chinese translators should recognize the responsibilities they are bearing, choose the right literary work, maintain enthusiasm for the original work and translation, and adhere to the principle of being responsible for authors as well as think- ing about readers and of striving to preserve ＂foreignness＂ as well as timely assimilate into the target language. At the same time, they should try their best to bring translators＇ subjectivity into full play so as to reproduce the ＂romantic charm＂ of the text.
