A Study on the Literary Appreciation Viewpoint of "the Idea of Empathy"

"了解之同情"一语出自陈寅恪先生在《冯友兰中国哲学史上册审查报告》,这是他提出的一种治史的态度。然而这种态度并不局限在历史研究的层面,就陈寅恪先生自身对"了解之同情"的阐述和运用来看,他还将这种观点运用在文学鉴赏和文学批评中,可以说是把它放在了中国悠久的文化史中去全面认识。首先,"了解之同情"与中国传统的文学批评方法有着奇妙鲜明的继承关系;其次,"了解之同情"贯穿于陈寅恪先生本人的文学探讨的著作中,在其一生的学术研究中发出耀眼的光辉。

The phrase ＂the Idea of Empathy＂ was used by Mr. Chen Yin-que when he was writing the Examination Report for the book Chinese Philosophy History Volume One written by Feng You-lan. It is Mr. Chen＇s attitude on studying history. However, this attitude is not limited to the level of historical research. Mr. Chert also used the view in literary appreciation and literary criticism, even in the whole culture history in China. There is an inheritance relationship between viewpoint of ＂the Idea of Empathy＂ and the method of traditional Chinese literary criticism. The viewpoint of ＂the Idea of Empathy＂ was used in all into the books which were written by Mr. Chen. And it also makes him shine out with great brilliancy.
