词库音系学的几个理论问题刍议

Remarks on Some Theoretical Issues in Lexical Phonology

基于对相关领域中经典文献的重新审视,文章讨论了词库音系学中几个重要的理论问题。本文首先对词库音系学的理论基础进行了重新思考,接着分析了词库音系学中关于词库规则和后词库规则的区分,并对词库规则的循环性问题作了探讨。借助于"括号悖论",文章讨论了词库音系学所面临的困境。通过分析,文章指出,词库音系学具有强烈的规则交互作用意味:形态规则和音系规则的施用具有协作同步性,相关的音系规则施用于某个词项的底层音系形式,随后的形态规则可以施用于派生而来的音系形式,这就为下一条音系规则提供了新的施用域。因此,词库音系学是关于各类规则如何相互作用的理论。

This paper, by reexamining some classical works in relevant areas, addresses some important issues in lexical phonology. It firstly reconsiders the theoretical basis of lexical phonology, then analyzes the distinction between lexical rules and postlexical rules, and deals with the cyclicity in lexical rules. This paper also discusses the dilemma encountered by both lexical phonology and morphology with the help of bracketing paradox. It argues that lexical phonology bears with the strong flavor of interaction between rules. Specifically, rules of morphology and phonology apply in tandem. Given the relevant rules of phonology are applied to a word with its underlying phonological form, the afterwards morphological rule may be applied to that word in its derived phonological form. This creates a new domain of application for the next rules of phonology. Therefore, lexical phonology focuses on the interaction between rules in derivation.
