Corpus-based Translation Quality Assessment—A Review of Investigating Collocational Clashes in English Versions of Government Documents

本文从翻译质量评价的视角评析唐义均新著《政府文件汉英翻译搭配冲突的调查研究》,指出该书具有三个特点:方法科学、工具先进;理论通俗、例证翔实;文类鲜明、热点突出。本文认为,该书开启了国内用词语搭配理论研究翻译实务的先河,也为国内汉英翻译制定了一种相对客观的评价标准。

The present article reviews the book Investigating Collocational Clashes in English Versions of Government Documents.By focusing on the issue of translation quality assessment,three striking features of the book are highlighted,namely the scientific methodology and advanced tools;clear theories and convincing examples as well as the unique genre and hotspot words it deals with.This book,the first of this kind at home to explore translation practices in light of lexical collocation theories,offers promising prospects for future translation studies and sets a comparatively objective criterion for Chinese-English translation quality assessment at home.
