制谜与揭谜——宋元话本中公案小说的叙事特征谦论其善恶观

Making and Dicovering Enigma: on the Narrative Characteristics and the Outlooks on the Good and Evil in the Gong'an Story of Song and Yuan's Script

本文考察了宋元话本———公案小说中一种特别的叙事结构 :制谜 (隐藏作恶者 )与揭谜 (揭露作恶者 ) ,以及凝结在这种叙事结构中的人性善恶。力图在简洁的分析中阐明这种叙事结构与人性善恶所具有的文学和文学史意义 :早期中国通俗白话小说在总体不免粗糙的情况下 ,实已在局部发展出了某种具有一定水准的小说观念及小说形式。同时 ,将他们在把握现实生活和人性世界时所体验观察到的复杂内容与其小说形式结合为某种整体 。

This thesis attempts a comprehensive study of the narrative structure of the Gong'an story ,a kind of fictions of Song-yuan Hua-pen story, and discusses on the Good and Evil in the Gong'an story. Making enigma and opening enigma was a special narrative structure in the Gong'an story. Making enigma means some evils happened, but no one knows who made the evils, the person who made the evils was concealed by the author . Opening enigma means to unmask who was the bad man in the Gong'an story. How to make enigma and how to open enigma was a kind of narrative modes of Gong'an story. Behind making enigma and opening enigma, there was the author's understanding or belief about law and humanity . Our study recognized that it was an important evolution in the evolution history of Chinese fiction. As an academic experiment, we hope it provides a valuable way to understanding the value and the history of Chinese fiction further.
