Modern Gongyang Study and Qu Yuan's Theory of Negation

公羊学在近代的风靡,影响了一代学者的学术研究,楚辞研究亦不例外。公羊学对楚辞研究的影响在史不在论,其对后世的影响主要有两个方面:其一是近代楚辞研究的大家,诸如廖平,其注骚著作中均可见公羊学的影子;其二是公羊学派为改制而疑古变古,形成清末民初的疑古之风,为廖平否定屈原提供了适宜的土壤,致使"屈原否定论"在楚辞学界引起经久的震动。

The modern Gongyang Study has influenced a generation of scholars＇ academic research, the study of Chuci is not an exception. The influence of Gongyang Study on the research of Chuci is in history but not in theory. Its influences on the later are mainly two aspects. One is Liao Ping, the great master of modern Chuci research; we can find the shadow of Gongyang Study in his works of Sao. The other one is the Gongyang School. In order to reform they doubted the ancient and changed the ancient and formed the winds of doubting the ancient in late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, thus provided the suitable soil for Liao Ping denied Qu Yuan, and ＂Qu Yuan negativism＂ caused prolonged vibration in Chuci circles.
