摘要 传统的高职英语口语教学普遍存在"费时低效率"的现象,教学效果不尽如人意。文章以多模态理论为基础,分析了能同时调动学习者听觉和视觉感官的视频材料在多模态高职英语口语教学中的作用,如视频材料能创造交际情景、提供模仿范例以及扩充背景知识等。在此基础上,文章探讨了视频材料在多模态口语教学中具体的应用策略及注意事项。 The traditional oral English teaching in higher vocational colleges is time- consuming and inefficient,so the teaching effect is not satisfactory. Based on multi- modality theory,the present paper analyzes the function of video materials,which can mobilizes the auditory and visual sensory of the learners at the same time,in multi- model spoken English teaching in higher vocational colleges. For example,the video materials can create communicational situations,provide examples for imitating and enlarge students ' background knowledge. Then it discusses how to apply the video materials appropriately in the teaching process of spoken English.
