Objective: This paper explored the psychometric properties of the Chinese Adjectives Scale of Big-Five Fac- tor Personality(BFFP-CAS) base on the univariate generalizability theory(UGT) and multivariate generalizability theory (MGT). Methods: A total of 707 college students were surveyed with the BFFP-CAS. Results: According to the UGT, it is suitable to count 5N6 factors for each personality dimension, the generalizability coefficient and the index of dependability were excellent, and under the same conditions, the BFFP-CAS is more suitable to explain by the norm-referenced test. Ac- cording to the MGT, at the facet level, the generalizability coefficients ranged from 0.65(Tenderness) to 0.81(Depression), the index of dependability ranged from 0.62(Altruism) to 0.81(Depression), the facet factors also could be used for the norm- referenced test. At the dimension level, the generalizability coefficients ranged from 0.90(Agreeableness) to 0.93(Neuroti- cism), and the index of dependability ranged from 0.89(Agreeableness) to 0.92(Neuroticism). The component proportion of some facet factors in each dimension was not good, which should be improved in the future. Conclusion: The measurement accuracy and reliability were excellent for each facet factor and each personality dimension, and this scale can be used for the norm-referenced test to assess the personality trait.
