In Singapore＇s general election in September 2015,the People＇s Action Party（ PAP） won 69. 86% of the popular vote to remain in power. The party＇s success in the general election is largely attributable to the evolution of its governing ideas and election principles,which not only greatly influence Singapore＇s political development,but also have vital significance for party building and development in other countries. In that election,the PAP drew a lesson from the 2011 general election by adjusting its policy to redress grievances and cater to public opinion,and eventually won public support.As a major theme in all of Singapore＇s political elections,crisis awareness has become a magic weapon for the PAP to remain in power by winning an overwhelming majority of votes. It promoted the PAP＇s self-improvement and renewal and thereby laid a solid foundation for its long-term governance. Legitimacy measurement is a crucial indicator for a party and can gauge the degree of the public＇s recognition of the PAP. The PAP has retained a legal channel for dissenting forces,providing an outlet for public anger which is conducive to its long-term governance.
