摘要
本文调查研究了高校英语学习者接受性书面词汇量(即阅读词汇量)和接受性口语词汇量(即听力词汇量)以及学习者的接受性词汇量与英语听力理解能力之间的关系。研究先发现:1)学习者的阅读词汇量和听力词汇量存在显著相关性,且阅读词汇量高于听力词汇量;2)阅读词汇量和听力词汇量均与英语听力理解水平均存在显著相关性,但英语听力理解水平对听力词汇量的依赖高于阅读词汇量;3)在三个频率水平的词汇中,中等频率水平的听力词汇量与听力理解水平表现出最强的关联关系。
This study investigated the relationship between receptive written vocabulary size (i. e. reading vocabu- lary size) and receptive spoken vocabulary size (i. e. listening vocabulary size) as well as their associations with the Eng- lish listening comprehension of tertiary.-level Chinese learners of English. It was found that 1 ) the reading vocabulary size and listenng vocabulary size of learners were highly correlated at 0.76 and the reading vocabulary size was significantly lar- ger than the listening vocabulary size; 2) both reading vocabulary and listening vocabulary were significantly correlated with listening comprehension, but listening comprehension showed more dependence on listening vocabulary than reading vocab- ulary; 3 ) among the three frequency levels of words, listening vocabulary at mid - frequency level had the strongest associ- ation with listening comprehension.
