To improve teaching effectiveness and cultivate students＇ interest and ability of autonomous learning, a new course design and teaching practice was carried out on ＂Numerical Simulation of Material Forming Process＂ by using the project-based teaching approach. The practice experience and several key issues during the implementation of project-based teaching approach were introduced. In short, project-based teaching approach can effectively improve the teaching effect of ＂Numerical Simulation of Material Forming Process＂ for material majors, so it is worthy of further promotion.
