Connotation and Significance of Bilingual Ethnic Education in China

我国实施的少数民族双语教育是整体教育事业的重要组成部分。改革开放以来,我国民族教育事业及少数民族双语教育取得了显著成就。但是,在新的历史条件下,随着现代化建设的不断发展,我国民族教育事业的数量和质量与内地相比仍然存在较大差距,进一步加强少数民族双语教育是从整体上促进我国民族教育事业稳步发展的重要措施。

Bilingual education with both Chinese and ethnic languages is an important part of overall educational cause in China. Since the reform and opening up,great progress has been made in ethnic education and bilingual teaching with both Chinese and ethnic languages. However,under the new historic conditions,with the development of modernization,there is still a quite big gap between the ethnic education and that in inland area in terms of quantity and quality. Strengthening bilingual education with both Chinese and ethic language is a key measure to promote the steady development of ethnic education in China.
