大学作为培养人才的主要阵地,是文化传承与创新的基地,是民族国家的文化、精神的象征。当今,大学教育以就业为指挥棒,功利性和工具性逐渐取代其价值性和理想性追求。大学教育应以学生的兴趣为起点,以对学问的渴欲为最高目标,平衡通识教育和专才教育的关系,加强文化教育,为社会培养"不惑、不忧、不惧"的"整全的人"。

University, as the main cradle of talents, is the foundation of cuhural inheritance and innovation, and a cultural and spiritual symbol of a nation as well. Today, higher education tends to turn into a ＂baton＂ serving for employ- ment, with the values and commitments being gradually replaced by its utilitarian and instrumental purpose. In effect, uni- versity education should set the interests of students as its origin, and the eagerness to learn as its highest goal It is signifi- cant to balance the relationship between general education and specialized education. Besides, university needs to strength- en basic cultural education, aiming to cultivate the ＂wholly-developed man＂ with no ＂puzzles, worries, and fears＂.
