The World Fellowship of Buddhists Delivers China Wishes

佛教在对外交流交往方面有自己独特的优势,佛教可以发挥民间外交、公共外交、人文外交的作用。2014年10月16日至18日,由世界佛教徒联谊会(下称世佛联)主办,中国佛教协会、陕西省组委会和宝鸡市组委会共同承办的第27届世佛联大会在陕西宝鸡成功召开。来自30多个国家和地区的佛教代表、高僧大德、宗门领袖以及中外嘉宾4000多人云集供奉佛指舍利的佛门圣地法门寺,围绕"佛教与公益慈善"主题,交流思想、分享经验、凝聚共识,共同欢庆这一"佛教联合国"盛会,并祈愿世界和平。整届大会内容丰富,亮点纷呈,成果卓著,获得了与会代表及各界人士的高度肯定和广泛好评。

Buddhism possesses its own unique strengths as a channel for foreign exchange and it plays a role in people-to-people diplomacy, public diplomacy and cultural diplomacy. From October 16 to 18, 2014, the 27 th Congress of the World Fellowship of Buddhists, hosted by the World Fellowship of Buddhists and organized by the Buddhist Association of China and the organizing committees of Shaanxi Province and Baoji City, was successfully convened in Baoji, Shaanxi. Under the theme of 'Buddhism and Philanthropy', over 4,000 Buddhist representatives, noble monks, religious leaders and Chinese and foreign guests from more than 30 countries and regions gathered at the Famen Temple, where Buddhist relics are worshipped, to exchange views, share experience, seek consensus, pray for world peace, and celebrate this grand gala of the 'United Nations of Buddhism.' The content-rich and fruitful congress won approval and praise from all attendees.
