《天堂与权力——世界新秩序中的美国与欧洲》(刘坤译,社会科学文献出版社2013年版,以下简称《天堂与权力》)一书作者是美国布鲁金斯学会高级研究员罗伯特·卡根(Robert Kagan),他多次被著名的《外交政策》杂志评为"全球顶级百位思想家"。《天堂与权力》主要围绕美国在国际格局中所扮演的角色、如何与世界其他国家和地区打交道、美国的单极地位是否会衰弱以及衰弱后的世界秩序将会朝何方发展等主要论题所展开。
The writer of the book Of Paradise and Power: America and Europe in the New World Order is Robert Kagan, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institute. He has been on the list of Foreign Policy magazine' s Top 100 Global Thinkers several times. The book mainly discusses the role of the U.S. in the international order, how the U.S. deals with other countries and regions, whether the unipolar position of the U.S. will weaken and how the international order might develop after such weakening.
