Canada is one of the mature countries in reading promotion around the world. Through the investigation of several types of typical reading promotion projects, we could find that they have following characteristics： the government is the leading force; the social cooperation is extensive; the classification of the audience is detailed ; the festival and daily promotion form a mutually supplementary; the design of activities is affinity and entertainment; paying attention to the evaluation and research of reading promotion. These provide reference and inspiration for the development of reading promotion activities in China.
