Portal hypertension is in nature a vascular disease, and relief of pressure in the portal system in time is the key to prevention of disease progression and various severe complications. The therapeutic decision should be made on the basis of a comprehensive understanding of portal hypertension, and minimally invasive techniques are important methods for such strategies.
