The 20th century Chinese war novels made a start in the process of the modern anti invasion war and revolution of modern novels.Immediately,they undertook the mission of serving politics.Influenced by the May 4th Literary Revolution,the 'anti war' novels in the late 1920's had their ephemeral appearance.The first boom of the 20th century Chinese war novels did not come until the Anti Japanese War,during which anti Japanese novels of diverse styles emerged in enemy(Japanese) occupied and Guomindang-occupied areas,while in liberated areas anti war novels were characterized by originality and uniqueness in theme and style. It was in the 1950s that the second boom of literary creation of war novels arrived.But after the mid 1980s literary creation of war novels broke away from the unitary influence of politics and headed for manifoldness.
