The paper provides a brief on the necessary content for a burn test program.Based upon a typical CNC lathe as an example,it describes the plan and process on preparation of the burn test program.Eventually,apractical test program is developed for the FANUC0 ICNC lathe.The program can be directly used for burn tests of FANUC0 ICNC lathes.The program can also be used to test other systems of CNC lathe machines after the appropriate instructions are replaced.
