A part of Hudson River School painters devoted to representing the light and dark, and they are called luminism artists by later generations.Because of precise drawing and symbolic mean-ing, luminism is different from impressionism in Europe.Also because of the love for light, the lu-minism art is different from others in the Hudson River School.Through the modal effect, narrative effect and symbolic effect of a unique artistic language, luminism strengthened American art tradi-tion.
