《遵义府志》是一部学术价值极高的史学著作,保存了遵义地域的其它志书无法考证的历史资料,是了解、研究遵义政治、经济、文化、地理、社会历史的重要文献。张之洞在清代二十五部省志、府州县志善本名录中,列出的三部优秀府志,《遵义府志》与《汾州府志》《嘉兴府志》并称。中国近代思想家、政治家、教育家、史学家、文学家梁启超曾评价此志为清代"府志第一"。

＂ Zunyi Government Record＂ is a historiography work with very high academic value,which saves the historical data that other annals of Zunyi region can＇t prove. It is an important historical document to understand and research the politics,economy,culture,geography and society in Zunyi. Zhang Zhidong listed three outstanding government records through Twenty- five government records in Qing dynasty： ＂Zunyi Government Record＂, ＂ Fenzhou Government Record＂ and ＂ Jiaxing Government Record＂. Liang Qichao,the Modern Chinese thinker,politician,educator,historian and litterateur,had evaluated this record was the ＂ No. 1 Record＂.
