美国是世界上最典型的移民国家,移民的历史构成了美国史中最为重要的部分。在漫长的国家建立与发展过程中,美国逐渐形成了自成体系的政治文化,这种极具美国特色的政治文化体系与美国移民国家的特性息息相关。美国政治文化的主要源头是最初欧洲白人移民所带来的清教传统及自由主义思想。在其后二百多年的美国历史发展中,随着历史阶段与移民结构的变化,演变出新教理念、自由主义、个人主义、实用主义、利益集团政治等特点。

The US is the most typical immigration country, which is an important component of Amer- ican history. It has gradually developed its individualistic political culture, which is also considered as its spiritual bond of existence and development. American political culture originates from Europe, initially brought by European immigrants with Puritanism, liberalism and conservatism, to which the individualism, pragmatism and interest group politics are added.
