报刊舆论与近代苏州市民意识——以《苏州明报》对“史金奎事件”的记载为中心

Newspaper Public Opinion and Public Awareness in Modern Suzhou——Centre on“Shi Jinkui event”which is recorded in the“Su Zhou Ming Bao”

民国十五年(1926年)四月五日晚十一时左右,苏州发生了一起非常惨烈的火灾。此次大火导致十人丧生,其中包括一名救火联合会会员,而此名救火会员的殒命被认为与电厂"玩忽"职责有关。围绕此事,社会各种力量展开了激烈的争论与博弈,《苏州明报》成为各种声音的"竞技场",最终该事件得以圆满解决。可以说,报刊的舆论促成了该事件的较圆满解决。从报刊舆论对"史金奎事件"的记载中不难看出,民国时期苏州的近代市民意识已经产生,并对当时的苏州社会有着较大的影响。当时公共舆论较为关注于"公"有关的事业,人们有一套公私分明的概念和评判标准,其对"公"与"私"之间的界线分得很清楚,没有丝毫的含混。

In 1926,about eleven o’clock the evening of April 5,there was a very tragic fire disaster happened in Suzhou. The fire led to the death of ten people,including a fireman,and his death is owned to the Power Plant’s dereliction of duty. Around this event,various social forces in a fierce debate, ＂ Suzhou Ming Bao＂ became the sounds of ＂ Arena＂,at last the event was satisfactorily resolved. We can say that the newspaper public opinion led to a satisfactory solution. It is easy to see from the ＂ Shi Jinkui event＂ which is recorded in the newspaper public opinion,the modern public awareness had generated in Su Zhou and had a greater impact on modern Suzhou. in the Republic of China Public opinion was more concerned in the career which had a relationship with the ＂ public＂,people had a clear concepts and criteria,the boundaries between ＂ public＂ and ＂ private＂ were clearly divided,without the slightest ambiguity.
