A Metaphorical Study on Political Discourse Based on Conceptual Metaphor Theory and Conceptual Blending Theory——Taking the Speeches of President Barack Obama as an Example

传统隐喻观认为隐喻是一种修辞方式,隶属于修辞学的范畴;现代隐喻观则认为隐喻是一种思维方式,隶属于认知语言学的范畴。隐喻以其特有的信息筛选功能和感情移就功能被广泛运用于政治语篇中。由于人的思维活动是动态的,本文以概念隐喻理论和概念整合理论为框架,详细阐述隐喻在政治语篇中的作用,为政治语篇的解读提供了理论和实践上的指导作用。

Metaphor is a way of rhetoric in terms of traditional view, which belongs to Rhetorics. However, in terms of modem view, metaphor is a way of thinking, which belongs to Cognitives. Metaphor is widely used in political discourse for its special information screening and emotion moving functions. Human thinking is dynamic. This article makes a detailed analysis on metaphor in political discourse framed in Conceptual Metaphor theory and Conceptual Blending theory, which provides a guiding role for political discourse analysis theoretically and practically.
