北魏太武帝是值得称颂的人物。他在实现北魏初期经济战略转移时，把目光转向所有占领地区，并着眼于行将占领地区的开发。其西部经济战略在未占领西域前以结好西域和“致奇货”为开端，而后又以占领河西重开丝绸之路毕其功，对北魏经济的发展和国家的强盛带来重大而深远的影响。

Emperor Tai Wu in Beiwai Dynasty deserves to be a great man. When he was transfering the economic strategy in early Bei-wei Dynasty,he turned his foresight not only to all the occupied regions, but also to the exploit of the coming occupied regions. Thewestern economic strategy began with making alliance with Western Regions and'Zhi Q Huo' (acquiring treasres), then reopenedthe Silk Road by occupying Hexi area. All these exerted an important and lasting influence on the dvelopment economy and the pros-perity of the country.
