The authority and efficiency of the United Nations have weakened leading to a serious deficit in global governance.A United Nations with stronger representative and operational powers is needed to construct the more open,inclusive,collaborative and effective framework required for global governance in the 21 st century.China should and will play a leading role in the UN's future efforts.
The work of the UN in maintaining the peace and stability of international relations during the last seven decades confirms itsirreplaceable role in global governance. 2015 marks the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the establishment of UN. The future of UN reform and enhancements for global governance should be the goal of participating nations, and China, as a permanent member of the Security Council, should evince greater leadership.
