摘要 We Chinese should not tell false stories, or deny or cover up "stories" that are not so good, and at the same time we should not allow wrongversions and interpretations of our story to become accepted as the standard. With the international audience watching China's amazing rise, the country translators and foreign language experts should become more skilled in matching Chinese connotations to those of foreign languages to allow the "China story" to be promulgated sincerely in form and content. China's leaders, beginning with President Xi Jinping, have emphasized the importance of this. At the request of China's leaders, the challenge is to correctly publicize "Chinese stories," improve China's international image, promote mutual understanding, and boost the peaceful development of China and the world. The Foreign Affairs Work Conference of the CPC Central Committee that convened in November of 2014 expressed the need "to advance China's soft power, well publicize 'Chinese stories,' and do well the work of foreign publicizing. On the brightly-lit,intensely watched world stage, creating a positive international image involves advancing "Chinese stories" in the best manner possible and giving Chinese views on the "stories" that crop up.China's international image requires precise language, clear expression, and, above all,the best "stories" told well.
