试论翻译中的模糊修辞功能——模糊修辞在英汉翻译中的语用功能

On the Functions of Fuzzy Rhetoric in Translation:Pragmatic Functions of Fuzzy Rhetoric in Chinese- English Translation

翻译活动不仅仅是不同语言之间的相互转换,同时也是异域思想文化之间的传递与交流。模糊修辞的应用实现了翻译意义精确与模糊的相互结合。在英汉翻译过程中使用模糊修辞可以达到意想不到的表意效果;语言的模糊性决定了作为语言运用手段之一的翻译的模糊性,修辞格也具有模糊的特征;模糊修辞的使用丰富了译文文本的文化色彩、语言形式。

This paper mainly focuses on the pragmatic functions of fuzzy rhetoric in Chinese -English translation. Translating practice, on one hand, is the activity to translate one language to another one; on the other hand, it also involves in the transmission of different thoughts and cultures. On the basis of the analyses of the various rhetoric devices, it points out that translating can pursue a certain effect by employing fuzzy rhetoric devices. Besides, this paper makes an analysis of the nature of translation. Through the study of scholars＇ viewpoints in different times, it eoncludes that fuzziness is a property of translation ; the use of fuzzy rhetoric in translation can provide evidence to show the fuzziness of translation. Also, by the employment of fuzzy rhetoric in translation, vivid works with unexpected beauty are demonstrated to readers.
