约翰为什么来中国学习?——一位美国留学生的叙事研究 被引量:6

Reasons for American John to Come to China: A Narrative Study

摘要 随着中国国力的强盛,中国的高等教育得到了较好的发展,也提出了发展国际化的要求,其中,发展来华留学生教育是关键一环。通过对来华美国留学生约翰的叙事研究发现,影响留学生来华的因素包括内部因素,如成长经历与个人特质等;外部因素,包括来自母国与东道国的拉力与推力;以及内外部因素之间的相互作用。而相较于高等教育发达的国家,中国大学学术水平不够高与研究环境的不理想是影响留学生离华的主要原因。 With the economic development of China, Chinese higher education has improved a lot and calls for internationalization as well. Attracting overseas students plays an important role. By the narrative studying on reasons for American student John to come to China, it can be concluded that there are three factors as the internal, external and their interactions. Internal factors include John's experience and characteristics, while external factors are related with the pull and push policies from the U.S. and Chinese government. However, when compared with countries with highly competitive higher education system, China's academic level and research environment are main factors that sometime drive overseas students away from China.
