Pissarides's Advice on China's Economy

2月5日,诺贝尔经济学奖获得者克里斯托弗·皮萨里德斯专程从英国飞北京,前来参加李克强总理与外国专家的座谈会.作为座谈会第一个发言专家,他被安排坐在总理旁边,还在后来共进晚餐时与总理相邻而坐继续进行深入交流.

Professor Christopher A.Pissarides was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2010, and his research interests focus on several topics of macroeconomics, notably labour, economic growth, and economic policy. On Feb 5^(th), he gave suggestions about China's economy to Premier Li Keqiang, 'Mostly we talked about agricultural problems, like how to improve agriculture efficiency and promote farmers' flow to cities.' Professor Pissarides' s suggestion is to develop the service industry in order to effectively absorb the migrant workers from the countryside. He holds that high unemployment among young people is a common problem in the world, but China seems to do better than Europe regarding encouraging young people to start a business.
