哈尔滨工程大学（原哈尔滨船舶工程学院）是以中国第一所高级军事技术院校--创建于1953年的中国人民解放军军事工程学院的海军工程系为基础发展壮大起来的一所全国重点大学，是国家“211工程”首批建设的高校之一，隶属于工业和信息化部。

Harbin Engineering University （HEU） originated in 1953 from the Naval Engineering Department of the PLA Military Academy of Engineering, which was the first senior military university of technology established in China. HEU is now included in the key universities that were first listed in the national ＂211 Project＂
