SOX9是SOX基因家族E亚族的一员,是一种核转录因子,参与诸多生理和病理过程,如细胞的生长、凋亡、分化和肿瘤细胞的浸润及转移等。SOX9在肿瘤的发生、发展及转移过程中起重要作用。在某些肿瘤中表达异常增加,充当癌性基因的作用,如肺癌、结直肠癌、胰腺癌、前列腺癌。而在某些肿瘤中表达异常降低,充当抑癌基因的作用,如黑色素瘤和宫颈癌。SOX9在肿瘤中的异常表达与低的生存率、不良预后及对某些化疗药物的敏感性降低有关。对于一些肿瘤,SOX9有望成为有价值的诊断、评估标志和治疗靶点。以下将对SOX9的结构、功能和肿瘤的关系作一综述。

SOX9 is a member of the SOX family, it is a nuclear transcription factor and involved in various physiological and pathological, including cell proliferation, apoptosis, differentiation and the infiltration of the tumor. SOX9 plays an important role in carcinoma development, aggressiveness and metastasis. SOX9 is anomaly overexpressed in some neoplasms, acting as a cancerous gene function, such as lung cancer, colorectal carcinoma, pancreatic carcinoma, prostatic carcinoma. However, SOX9 is low expressed in certain tumor, acting as a tumor suppressor gene, such as malignant melanoma and cervical cancer. SOX9 is associated with a shorter survival, poor prognostic and a reduced response to chemotherapy in patients. In certain neoplasms, SOX9 may be a valuable diagnostic and target of malignancy treatment.
