Japan is the world＇s major fishing country. Pacifit saury is the major fishery species of Japan. This article described the current situation of fishery in Japan,especially Pacific saury. The paper introduced Pacific saury capture fisheries,Pacific saury products and trade,and status of Pacific saury resource in recent years. The Pacific saury resource remains under pressure. The North Pacific Fisheries Commission will take protection measures for saury resouce,Japan will also make a positive role in it.
