Discussion on English Translation of Terms in TCM Modernization Study

中药现代化研究是中医走向世界的重要途径,可为中医打开海外市场。在中医现代化研究过程中产生了许多术语,这些新术语沿袭了传统中医理念,又带有了新的特征,与现代化学、现代分子生物学等有着紧密的联系。正确认识和总结中医现代化研究术语的翻译原则和方法对当代中医学术发展和对外交流具有重要意义,它是中医国际化进程中所面临的一项急迫而又艰巨的任务。通过语料库研究,探讨中药现代化研究术语的主要构成及翻译方法。

TCM modernization study, which can open the overseas market for Chinese medicine, is important for TCM＇s internation alization. In the process of TCM modernization, many new terms have been produced. These terms follow the TCM theory, and have new features, which are closely related to modern chemistry, modern molecular biology and so on. Understanding and summarizing the translation rules and methods of the terms in TCM modernization study, which benefit TCM development and its foreign exchange, are urgent and arduous tasks. This paper discusses the formation and translation methods of the terms in TCM modernization study through the corpus research.
