What is Shanghai Film: The History and Opportunities of Shanghai Film in View of Film Industry

本文围绕不同时期对于何谓"上海电影"的理解以及不同的产业策略,梳理了上海电影产业的历史脉络与特征。在此基础上,本文认为当下讨论电影产业与城市产业环境的关系,在于电影资本是否在这座城市注册、纳税与运营;导演、明星、编剧以及产业链上相关人员是否长期在此生活与工作;是否在此形成新的电影潮流。换句话说,电影产业的中心,也即是资本的中心、人才的中心与美学的中心。上海电影产业的复兴,要在资本的优惠政策、人才的扶持政策、文艺的引导政策三方面发力。

This paper discusses how to promote Shanghai fi lm industry by considering the current industrial environment. The paper reviews the history of Shanghai fi lm industry, different times for the meaning of 'Shanghai fi lm' and different industrial strategy, carding a historical context and characteristics of the Shanghai fi lm industry. On this basis, the paper argues that the current discussions on the relationship between the fi lm industry and urban industrial environment depend on three main elements: whether the movie capital is registered in the city as well asits tax and operation; whether directors, stars, writers and industry chain-related personnel live and have long-term work in this city; whether the movie has promoted a new aesthetic trend. In other words, the center of the fi lm industry should be the core of the capital, talents and aesthetics. Therefore, the revival of Shanghai fi lm industry needs supports from fl ourishing capital, more talents and better literature and art policy.
