摘要
本文从符号学的视角解读托﹒斯﹒艾略特《荒原》。通过比较艾略特诗歌创作理论"客观对应物"和符号学的契合,分析诗中符号的能指(形象)、所指(概念)、和符号相关的语境、解释者等,探讨诗人用传统文明解救现代荒芜,用现代艺术方式发扬传统的信念。
This paper interprets T. S. Eliot＇s ＂ The Waste Land＂ from the perspectives of semiology and semiotics. Eliot＇s poetic principle ＂ objective correlatives＂ has something in common with semiology and semiotics. Through the analysis of the signifiers,the signified,the context related to a set of symbols and the interpretant,the poet is believed to intent to resurrect the modern waste land with tradition and to carry forward tradition by modern artistic expression.
